Kidology to Go in Wichita, KS

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

One of the exciting things about traveling around the continent is that I will be meeting up with people I haven’t seen in a super long time. Our third Kidology to Go will be just that!

Asbury Church

Asbury Church - Central Campus

On Saturday, November 20th Asbury Church in Wichita, Kansas will be hosting a Kidology to Go. Asbury has four campuses, and their Central Campus Children’s Pastor Jerred Haydock will spearhead this event for us. The event will also take place at their central campus at 2801 West 15th Street, Wichita, KS 67203. Pastor Jerred has a very active and exciting ministry at Asbury called Blast Kid’s Ministry, where their mission is To see every child grow up the same way Jesus did “in wisdom stature, and favor with God and man.”

Pastor Jerred

Asbury holds a special place for me because I once served as Children’s Pastor there a decade ago. Many of the people we knew at Asbury are still there serving and growing in Jesus, including their senior pastor Dennis Wallace and his wife Ladonna.  Wichita is a great city but has gone through a lot since 9/11 because it’s economy is closely tied to the airline industry. I look forward to coming back to this tremendous church and city to bring some training, inspiration and fun!! Register online if you live in Kansas or Oklahoma or even Texas!

Kidology to Go – Gardner, Kansas

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

UPDATE 10/10 – This Kidology To Go location has been canceled due to scheduling difficulties.  We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage you to explore the Witchta, KS event on 11/20.

We are excited to announce our 2nd Kidology to Go in Gardner, Kansas on Saturday, November 13th. Our host will be Robbie Conrad, children’s pastor at New Life Community Church in Gardner.

Robbie is leader of a tremendous children’s ministry, Kidz World, at his church. Kidz World has six values they use to guide the direction of their ministry.

Value 1: Kidz World will partner with parents in reaching children for Jesus.
Value 2: Kidz World will be child-targeted (I Corinthians 9:22).
Value 3: Kidz World’s teaching will be relevant, creative and application-oriented (Psalm 119:11).
Value 4: Kidz World will intentional shepherd children through small groups.
Value 5: Kidz World will be safe.
Value 6: Kidz World will be fun.

Gardner is a suburb of Kansas City, so if you are from Missouri, Nebraska or eastern Kansas, make every effort to come out to this great training opportunity that will not come around again!

Be sure register for the Gardner Kidology to Go at Kidology.org!

It’s Official: The First Kidology to Go!

Friday, August 20th, 2010

We are so thrilled to announce we have officially scheduled the first Kidology to Go!

Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma will be the host church for the Kidology to Go seminar on Saturday, November 6th, 2010.

Our host, Children’s Pastor Jacob Myers, noted, “our team is super excited about Kidology to Go coming to our church!”

Jacob doing some children’s ministry in Africa using a lesson he found on Kidology!

Locust Grove is near Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a great town like so many in mid-America. It reminds me of the small town I am currently living in. We encourage anyone near eastern Oklahoma, northwestern Arkansas or southwestern Missouri to consider coming to this Kidology to Go.

We are planning lots of fun and it will also be a great opportunity to network with other children’s pastors and volunteers. Bring along some others from your church!

Online Registration is now available. We have other Kidology to Go seminars with additional host churches we are close to announcing as well.
If you are interested in getting more information on hosting a Kidology to Go at your church please contact Marty Martin.

What do the dots mean?

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Now that its been a month since launching Kidology to Go, I can address a recurring question that has been coming up from interested host churches and potential attendees. What are those little dots on each state? Do they represent a certain city or a scheduled event? The short answer is not yet! They don’t represent a certain city or church, but rather they represent where we plan to be on our family’s journey across North America in the next two and half years! At this moment, we have just one  Kidology to Go booked, which we will announce soon! (We are still getting the final date nailed down.)

You see, traveling all around the North American continent in an RV is a family dream that God has helped us to realize!

We are super excited about seeing tons of sights while serving God in new and unique ways, growing closer to Him and each other as we do. We are praying for many different ministry doors to open on this journey in addition to the Kidology to Go events, as we look for ways we can share God’s love with different people we meet a long the way.

When Karl Bastian heard about this dream and presented this opportunity, we suddenly had the perfect way to both see this dream come true as well as do something else we loved – equip and encourage children’s workers! So we planned out a route across America and Canada of when and where we wanted to go, seeking God and praying through the process. It was a perfect partnership because we already love providing quality, affordable training for local churches, and with Kidology to Go, the host church doesn’t have to pay for lodging or transportation!

Hope this clears up the mystery of the dots! They represent the states we will be in – if a dot is near you – we’d love to book a Kidology to Go training event at YOUR CHURCH!

Announcing… Kidology To Go

Kidology to Go is a mobile training event that travels across the United States (yes, all 50 of them) and Canada, bringing quality children’s ministry training and resources to churches.

Here at KidologyToGo.org, you can learn how you can host a Kidology to Go training event at your church, or if you are a Resource Provider, have your products or services represented at events across North America.

Curious how Kidology To Go came to be?  You may want to read the full “backstory” written by Karl Bastian, the founder of Kidology.org.

The next two and half years are going to be very exciting as Pastor Marty Martin and his family travel across the United States & Canada, seeing interesting sights and places while also providing Kidology-style “Equipping and Encouraging” along the way.

You can follow the adventures here on KidologyToGo.org, as well as via Twitter, YouTube or Facebook – but the best thing you can do is to arrange to have the Kidology to Go RV show up at YOUR CHURCH!

Whether you learned about Kidology to Go from Karl’s blog, the Kidology Newsletter or from our booth at CMXwelcome! We hope to meet you in person at one of our local events!
